About me

I’m Savannah Taider, a bilingual creative soul based in Belgium. I’m a passionate multimedia journalist and storyteller specializing in culture, entertainment, lifestyle, wellness, and identity, with a keen focus on womanhood.

I discovered at an early age that words hold a magical power that allows me to express myself when those around me fail to hear what I have to say. So, with pen and paper (more so my laptop keyboard and online blog) as my closest companions, I set my sights on becoming a multimedia journalist/writer, determined to make my voice heard. But also to help others feel seen and understood by sharing stories that resonate, educate, and ignite sparks of inspiration within their hearts.

Fluent in both French and English, my journey as a journalist has been shaped by my deep appreciation for the (Afro-)American culture.* My main topics of interest lie in pop culture, entertainment, lifestyle, wellness, and identity, with a keen focus on womanhood. Driven by a commitment to explore the experiences of women, especially those of women of color, I’m on a mission to celebrate our achievements and shed light on the challenges we typically face throughout our different life paths.

As a storyteller with a narrative-driven style, my mastery lies in crafting long-form articles and weaving personal or thought-provoking essays that resonate deeply with readers, providing them with a deeper understanding of the subjects I cover. My engaging approach to interviewing has the power to draw out the essence of my subjects, creating captivating conversations that resonate with viewers and readers alike.

Some of my articles and interviews—whether conducted in written form or on video—have earned me accolades and praise from various celebrities and media mavens such as beloved actress and movie director Eva Longoria, ‘Hairspray’ actress Brittany Snow, the soulful singer Jhené Aiko, former gossip blogger Necole Kane, and former Teen Vogue EIC Elaine Welteroth. My portfolio of interviewees ranges from UK soul/r&b singer Mahalia and former Pussycat Doll Melody Thornton to rapper Kevin Gates’ manager and spouse Dreka Gates, BET’s ‘Sistas’ actress Novi Brown, Netflix’s ‘The Five Juanas’ actress Sophia Engberg, and famous beauty vlogger Dulce Candy Ruiz.

Currently pursuing my master’s degree in communications and culture at the Catholic University of Louvain, my journalistic journey began in 2018 with a short article on self-love that I wrote for a local magazine. Since then, my career has beautifully evolved. In early 2019, I became a contributing writer for xoNecole.com, a renowned website acquired by Will Packer Media, dedicated to women of color. In 2020, my perseverance and hard work paid off, leading my role at xoNecole.com to evolve into the role of community curator. In early 2022, I took a bold step and launched my own media outlet, Work The Magic Within, which I describe as a modern online spellbook designed to inspire women, especially women of color, on their journey of self-discovery and manifesting their dreams into reality. Not long after that, as part of an unpaid internship, I seized the opportunity to write for the Belgian digital edition of Elle Magazine and further immersed myself in the world of editorial excellence. As of today, I write for the ‘art & culture’ category of the Belgian digital edition of the esteemed Parisian magazine, L’Officiel.

Lastly, another of my areas of expertise lies in the topic of writing. I thoroughly enjoy educating aspiring writers on the art of writing, imparting my knowledge and insights to help them hone their craft. In the past, I ran a successful writer’s club, which counted over 1,000 members, through xoNecole.com’s online community platform, where I passionately shared invaluable tips and inspiring prompts that empowered several members to achieve recognition and publication in renowned digital publications.

*Aware of my ambiguous features, I find it important to mention that I was born into an interracial family to an Algerian father and a White mother.
